Abstract:

In recent years, there have been growing interests on using artificial intelligence approaches such as computer vision and natural language processing in the healthcare domain. To understand how artificial intelligence can help, it is important to understand the current capability and limitation of artificial intelligence.  In this talk, I will present health related projects in Microsoft Research. The work ranges from medical image analysis using weakly supervised machine learning techniques to natural language processing to help better understand intent of questions related to medicine. I will end the presentation by looking at opportunities for the application of these technologies in real world settings.
