Research Description One of my main research focuses is deep learning and pattern
recognition algorithms that are effective for machine vision or home-

Science and Engineering (IIS). I served as area chair of ACCV’09,
ACCV’10 and NBiS’10, program chair of IMV’12 and IMV’13,
general chair of IMEV’14, tutorial chair of ACCV’14, and workshop
chair of ACCV’16 conferences. My main research directions include
deep learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, machine
learning and image/multimedia processing. I have published more
than 150 technical papers in these fields.
