圖書館

本所圖書館於1977年6月本所成立籌備處時設置，主要任務在提供所內研究人員所需之學術研究文獻資源，同時也對院外大
眾提供學術服務。圖書館位於資訊所新館大樓二樓，館藏主題包括計算機科學及資訊科學及資訊工程等，有超過300種期刊
及超過21,000冊圖書。圖書館不僅以建置三十餘年的館藏文獻範圍為傲，歷任館員也都以為讀者提供親切有效率的服務為工
作目標。

近幾年學術期刊、會議文獻、電子書等電子資源數量及服務發展快速，且為因應圖書館館藏空間日益飽合問題，圖書館將逐
年減少紙本館藏訂購量，轉向以提供電子資源利用為主。另一方面也朝提供個人化服務努力，不論文獻檢索或全文提供，期
能隨時滿足研究人員的資訊需求，發揮學術圖書館支援研究的功能。

Founded in June 1977, the library at the Institute of Information Science (IIS) provides support for the Institute’s re-
search activities, as well as general service to the public. We are located on the second floor of the new IIS building. Our
archives include more than 300 journal titles and 21,000 book volumes. Our library has a proud tradition, not only due
to the scope of the literature within our collection, which has been built throughout the past more than thirty years, but
also for the friendly and efficient assistance that our librarians provide.

Due to both space limitations and increases in the availability of electronic resources, such as journals, conference pro-
ceedings, books, and databases, our library is gradually replacing the number of subscriptions to paper-based archives
with electronic resources. We are also working toward providing more personalized services, including archive and
full-text searching, so as to better meet the needs of our researchers and properly fulfill the role of an academic library.
