TOWARD LEARNING, UNDERSTANDING AND GENERATION IN NLP — A retrospection of my research in the past 30 years

摘要
I have been an AI researcher for more than 30 years. This talk I’ll share my research experience on AI and natural language processing as a brief review. It includes much work from my published papers in conferences, journals and from dissertations of my supervised Master and Ph. D dissertation. The topics will cover natural language acquisition, text and document processing, information extraction, semantic encoding and context awareness, discourse reference analysis, emotion and pragmatic inference, common sense and deep learning in story generation. Many of our research works actually pose more challenging research problems than having been solved. Some remain yet to be solved even for state of the art of deep learning in prospect.
